About

The Office of General Counsel for the Connecticut State Colleges & Universities is responsible for the coordination and management of legal issues affecting all seventeen institutions within the CSCU System, the Board of Regents for Higher Education and the System Office. The Office of General Counsel provides advice and consultation on a wide range of issues including, but not limited to regulatory compliance, employment, governance, student affairs, contracts, immigration, and intellectual property.

The goal of the Office of General Counsel is to provide high quality legal services promptly and effectively, and to assist in minimizing legal risks and costs efficiently, reliably and professionally while supporting the institutions’ missions.

The Office of General Counsel represents the Institutions, the Board of Regents, administrators, faculty and staff acting in their official capacities. The Office of General Counsel does not provide advice to individual faculty, staff, or administrators outside of the scope of their employment or provide advice to students or the general public.
