CT Automatic Admissions

CT Automatic Admission Program (CAAP) - Graduating CT high school seniors who have a 3.0 weighted GPA or a 2.75 unweighted GPA are eligible upon application to be automatically admitted to participating colleges and universities. This program waives the application fee, student essays, and recommendation letters for participating institutions.

Eligibility

In order to apply for automatic admission, a student must:
 

  • CT High School Senior
    Be a current graduating senior in a CT High School.
  • GPA
    Have a 3.0 weighted GPA or a 2.75 unweighted GPA. 

NOTE: Admission to some programs within these colleges and universities may require additional student information or demonstrated student success in the first semesters of attendance.

Program Requirements

Please note that both our Direct-Admit Nursing Major and Honors Program have additional admission requirements. Admission to Eastern (through CAAP or otherwise) does not guarantee admission to either of these selective programs.

Nursing Major:
There are additional requirements for our cohort-based, direct-entry BSN Program, including a personal statement and letter of recommendation from a science or mathematics teacher. The personal statement should be limited to 500 words and address the following: What educational and life experiences have led you to become interested in the nursing profession? 

The priority deadline for Nursing is December 15 and final deadline is March 1.

Honors Program:
Students wishing to further challenge themselves are encouraged to apply to Eastern’s Honors Program, which enrolls 25 students each cohort. Honors applicants should have at least a 3.8 GPA and 1200 SAT. Learn more about the Honors Program and its separate application. The deadline for applying to the Honors Program is January 15.

Financial Aid

In order to be eligible for federal financial aid, students must complete a FAFSA – the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Students are encouraged to seek support from high school counselors to successfully complete this form. Students should also refer to two Connecticut resources, the FAFSA Family Guide and the Virtual FAFSA Completion Sessions.

Students may also be eligible to receive non-federal forms of aid, such as merit awards, depending on student profile based on information in the application and the availability of such aid at the individual schools.
