SCSU Recognized as a Top Producer of Fulbright U.S. Scholars

The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs has recognized Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) as one of the top-producing institutions for the prestigious Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program for the 2024-25 academic year. Southern is the second-highest producer of Fulbright U.S. Scholars in the state of Connecticut.

Eastern Advocates for Increased State Funding at Legislative Breakfast

Eastern Connecticut State University recently hosted a legislative breakfast advocating for increased state funding as lawmakers work to finalize Connecticut’s upcoming two-year budget. The ongoing legislative session, which spans five months, will conclude on June 3, with the new budget taking effect on July 1, marking the start of the 2026 fiscal year.

CT State Three Rivers Hosts Legislative Breakfast

Central Students, Faculty Pilot Emergency Response Training with Local EMS

Central Connecticut State University hosted a mass casualty simulation, providing experiential learning for Athletic Training and Nursing program students, preparing them for the unique challenges of a mass casualty event. Central’s exercise is among the first in the state to be conducted at a university.

Eastern’s Theatre Program Represents at Kennedy Center Festival

Eastern Connecticut State University’s Department of Communication, Film and Theatre (CFT) sent 16 students and two alumni to the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF), Region 1 at Central Connecticut State University. The students accepted several KCACTF awards and performed a scene from Eastern’s Fall 2024 production of “Eurydice.”

WestConn’s M.S. in Addiction Studies Receives Technology-based Counseling Simulation Grant

The Master of Science in Addiction Studies program in the Department of Psychology at Western Connecticut State University received funding from a CreaTechnology Grant to implement a cutting-edge counseling simulation program into the curriculum. The program will give students a leading edge in learning how to deliver effective, evidence-based counseling skills.

Central Extends Nation’s Longest Winning Streak, Advances in NEC Tournament

The Central Connecticut State University men’s basketball team is on to the Northeast Conference semifinals after outclassing Le Moyne, 86-67, in the first round. With the victory, Central extended the nation’s longest winning streak to 13 games. Jordan Jones  (pictured) led the way with 19 points for Central as the Blue Devils knocked off Le Moyne in the NEC first round.

SCSU Indoor Track and Field Defends NE10 Championship

Southern Connecticut State University’s (SCSU) men’s and women’s Indoor Track and Field teams once again stood atop the podium at the 2025 Northeast-10 Conference Championships, hosted at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston, Mass. The men won their eighth straight NE-10 Conference Championship, and SCSU’s Women’s Indoor Track and Field team won their second straight NE-10 Conference Championship.

CT State Land Acknowledgment Signed

CT State President John Maduko joined elders and chiefs from Indigenous tribes across Connecticut at CT State Three Rivers and signed the Connecticut State Community College Land Acknowledgment, which was followed by a community conversation on how CT State can work with tribes and other Indigenous groups to fulfill the spirit of the land acknowledgment.
