Peter M. Rosa

He also worked as a higher education lobbyist, admissions officer and graduate school professor. As principal author of Connecticut’s Strategic Plan for Racial and Ethnic Diversity, he established the Connecticut Collegiate Access and Preparation (CONNCAP) Program, the nation’s first state-funded program of its kind. He was also co-chairman of the New England Board of Higher Education Advisory Committee on Student Access, Retention and Graduation.
Rosa was named the first “Latino Citizen of the Year” by Connecticut’s Latino and Puerto Rican Affairs Commission in 1999 and received the “Outstanding Support of Hispanic Issues in Higher Education” award from the American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education. Rosa earned a Ph.D. in higher education administration from the University of Connecticut, and a master’s and bachelor’s degree from CCSU. He is also active in several community organizations.
His current term ends June 30, 2011.
