Michael A. Caron

Caron was elected to nine terms represented Killingly, Plainfield and Sterling (44th District) in the state General Assembly, and served as Assistant Republican leader in the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2009. He played a key role in the development of state policy in fiscal policy, transportation, mental health, public safety and sustainability.
While a member of the legislature, he served on the board of the Northeast Economic Alliance and as a member of the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States and the Public Sector Gaming Study Commission. He has previously worked as a consultant at Caron Strategy and Consulting in Danielson and director of municipal accounts at Sterling Planet Renewable Energy Providers in Norcross, Ga.
In the community, Caron is vice chair of the board of directors of United Services, a mental health service organization, and previously served as a member of the board of trustees of the Pierce Memorial Baptist Nursing Home.
His current term ends June 30, 2011.
