John R. Sholtis Jr.

Sholtis was the first in his family to graduate college and earned a degree in business economics from the State University of New York College at Oneonta. There, he accepted an internship with Binghamton Savings Bank and has held many positions in the banking and finance industry.
He was previously Bank of America’s senior relationship manager and vice president of the Private Clients Group in New Haven and New London. He was also a branch manager and assistant vice president of Fleet Bank’s Willimantic branch, and community lending officer and assistant vice president of the Willimantic branch. He was branch manager and vice president of the Norwich Bank and branch manager and vice president Fleet Bank’s head office in Hartford. Now, he works with USB Financial Services to provide advice and investment services to clients.
In 1992, Sholtis was asked to volunteer for Eastern Connecticut State University’s Foundation, and with his help, the Foundation grew its assets from $200,000 to more than $1 million. While on Eastern’s Foundation board, he served on the membership and development, scholarship and finance committees and was president of the foundation board from 1996–99.
His current term ends June 30, 2015.
