CSUS System Office Responsibilities

System Office Photo The System Office of the Connecticut State University System works has a range of specific responsibilities in support of the four universities under the direction of the Board of Regents for Higher Education and the CSUS Board of Trustees, including:

  • Planning & Budgeting
    Facilities planning, capital budgeting and fiscal planning and analysis;
  • Collective Bargaining
    Collective bargaining with faculty and staff to create uniform contracts and personnel administration policies;
  • Government Relations
    Liaison for the four universities in working with state legislature, executive branch agencies, Congress and federal agencies;
  • Auditing
    Providing an internal audit function;
  • Institutional Research
    System-wide institutional research, assuring consistency in data and analysis;
  • Strategic Planning
    Managing the strategic planning process and monitoring the implementation of the CSUS strategic plan;
  • Trustee Assistance
    Providing staff assistance to CSUS trustees for budget allocation and prioritization and developing systemwide fiscal policy, while providing management for the common financial resources of the system;
  • IT & Telcomm
    Providing consolidated information technology and telecommunications functions systemwide, including IT planning and direction, software development and maintenance, as well as voice, data and video networking support;
  • Public Affairs
    Providing outreach to key constituencies and the public, coordinate with the CSUS universities, develop effective partnerships in the furtherance of CSUS goals and objectives, and provide public information in support of the mission of CSUS;
  • Equal Opportunity
    Providing advice on matters related to equal employment opportunity and affirmative action through the Equal Opportunity Advisory Committee and providing opportunities for awareness of cultural and ethnic diversity among staff.
