Supporting Business / RFPs

The Connecticut State University System works closely with business organizations and individual businesses throughout Connecticut, responding to workforce needs in the development and refinement of academic programs, in providing internships and co-op experiences for students, and in offering support and assistance to fledgling and growing businesses and entrepreneurs. Some of those initiatives are highlighted below:

Connecticut Small Business Development Centers (SBDC)

Connecticut Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) provide small businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs a wide array of technical assistance support which helps strengthen business performance and sustainability and adds to the creation of new businesses entities.

In Connecticut, the Small Business Development Center program, located at the four universities of the Connecticut State University System and the state Department of Economic and Community Development, is designed to deliver up-to-date counseling, training and technical assistance in all aspects of small business management.

CT SBDC services include, but are not limited to, assisting small businesses with financial, marketing, production, organization, engineering and technical problems and feasibility studies. Special CT SBDC programs and economic development activities include international trade assistance, technical assistance, procurement assistance, venture capital formation and rural development.

Institute of Technology and Business Development (ITBD)

Institute of Technology and Business Development (ITBD) Located in downtown New Britain, Central Connecticut State University's Institute for Technology and Business Development (ITBD) supports Connecticut businesses and business-related organizations with Training, Technology Assistance, Conferencing Services, Procurement Services and Business Incubation.

Institute of Technology and Business Development (ITBD) Combining the expertise of a professional staff, academic experts, private sector advisors, and government resources, ITBD turns ideas into ventures, aids the growth of existing businesses, and helps Connecticut's business community succeed in today's challenging domestic and international market. ITBD was inducted into the Connecticut Business Hall of Fame in 2011.

Bids received after the specified date and time will be returned. It is the vendor's responsibility to check the website for changes to the bid prior to the bid opening. The bidder will be held to the bid and all addenda. Connecticut Small Business Contractors and Connecticut Minority Business Enterprises are encouraged to participate in the bidding process.
