Dedication to Education

Erica M. Bordonaro, a Barnard Scholar and 2006 Central graduate, teaches in the Cheshire school system. She believes Central’s student teaching experiences, while earning her bachelor’s degree in education, prepared her for everyday challenges in the classroom. “It gave me a chance to live what I’d been learning,” said Bordonaro, who is in her fourth year of teaching.
Bordonaro completed her master’s degree in educational technology at Central and plans to earn a six year certificate in educational leadership. She applies what she learned to her first grade classroom, which is equipped with advanced technology.



“My class uses the SMARTBoard and Interactive Response System together to investigate new concepts and to build a close classroom community,” said Bordonaro, who assists teachers in using technology and presents workshops to enhance innovative instruction.
