Red Guard Fantasies and Other Stories

Shouhua Qi, Associate Professor of English at Western, has published a fictional work, Red Guard Fantasies and Other Stories. This collection of short stories is about the urban materialist and educated society trying to maintain contemporary ties with China’s centuries old traditions and 20th century Cultural Revolution legacy. The 14 stories in this partly autobiographical collection show life in different geographical, political, and economic environments as Qi explores the ever growing culture of modern China.
